ITEM DESCRIPTION
Optical Slave Trigger for Hot Shoe Flash / Wireless
(
not a hot shoe adapter
)
There  is a sync socket on the side of slave trigger. This is for you to  trigger another flash by using a PC sync cord* to connect this slave  trigger with that flash.
*Please message me for PC sync cord prices.
This slave trigger might not be compatible with Canon 430EX and 580EX.  The problem is it fires the first time and then flash has to be turned off/on  or the device removed and re-attached to get it to work again.
Up for auction is a brand new JPSlave remote optical slave trigger for shoe mount flash, compact and sturdy with a standard hot shoe seat on the top and a standard 1/4"-20 thread screw socket for tripod on the bottom. It mounts between a portable flash and a tripod. No connecting wire needed.
Size= 30x30x30mm. Weight= 0.7 oz.
Effective range: 60ft/18m
Effective range expands if the main flash is powerful enough, the equation being: effective range = flash GN number divided by 2.
This slave trigger gets its working power from the flash attached to it and therefore it is
battery-free.
This solid state slave trigger triggers the flash attached to it the moment it "sees" the first flash light from a main flash (either from a camera flash or a studio strobe). It is frequently used by both pro and amateur photographers to improve their flash shot.
Simply slide a shoe mount flash (you will see a little metal nipple underneath your flash unit) onto the top of this slave trigger and you have a slave flash ready to be used as:
Fill light -- to fill or soften unwanted shadows of the subject, or accent the subject.
Hair light -- to illuminate the hair of the subject for great details to achieve artistic/dramatic effects.
Background light -- to separate the subject from the background, often creating a halo effect around the subject.
Attention digital camera users:
Some digital cameras fire a pre-flash just micro-seconds before the main flash.
Deactivate the red-eye function if your camera uses pre-flash red-eye deduction mode. Or set your camera in Manual Flash Mode.
The two photos below are taken with a Sony Cybershot digital camera. The first one with only built-in flash fired*and the second one with a couple of external slave flashes triggered by our slave trigger.
*
Digital camera's built-in flash is always underpowered and tends to give poor quality photos on indoor or dim light shot and therefore one or more slave flashes are always a must for serious amateur and pro photographers.
