The chromel alumel wire is made to standard thermocouple specifications. This is a stranded wire with 7 filaments, each AWG32 (0.2 mm), for a total AWG 24 (0.5 mm). The stranded thermocouple wire is more flexible and therefore ideal for K-type extension cable.
